The Bachelor’s degree in Nursing aims to train generalist nurses capable of meeting the current and future challenges of the socio-healthcare context.

Varied in its approach, the programme alternates between theory and practice, both at the School and in clinical placements.

The programme enables students to:

  • Acquire fundamental knowledge and skills
  • Develop reflective abilities
  • Apply theoretical knowledge in professional practice
  • Analyse and provide appropriate responses to each situation

Study duration

Full-time

The Bachelor’s degree can be completed in:

  • 3 years (a minimum of 6 semesters, a maximum of 12), full-time, including 40 weeks of practical training

The Bachelor’s degree can be completed in:

  • 4 to 5 years (a minimum of 8 to 10 semesters, a maximum of 12), part-time, including 40 weeks of practical training

Important: The part-time programme is not a work-study programme.

The part-time Bachelor’s in Nursing allows students to extend their learning period, particularly if they:

  • Have professional and/or personal commitments that prevent them from studying full-time
  • Are undergoing a career change
  • Are elite athletes
  • Require more time for study to balance education, professional life, and personal life

The admission requirements are the same as for the full-time Bachelor’s programme.

Do you not hold a recognised upper secondary qualification ?

People interested in the Nursing degree programme who do not hold an upper secondary qualification recognised for ordinary admission may, under certain conditions, be eligible for admission based on a portfolio (ASD).

Admission based on a portfolio is open to people aged 25 or over who can demonstrate, through their professional and personal background, that they have knowledge and skills equivalent to those usually required to enter a UAS programme.

Depending on your initial training background, admission based on a portfolio may allow you to:

  • Enter the Nursing degree programme by successfully completing the Complementary Health Modules (MCS), if your initial training is not related to the health field;
  • Enter the Nursing degree programme directly, provided you meet the required conditions, if your initial training is related to the health field and you have professional experience in the health field.

We invite you to consult the detailed information on admission based on a portfolio that corresponds to your situation:

  • Admission based on a portfolio: Bachelor's
  • Admission based on a portfolio: Complementary Health Modules (MCS)

Admission requirements, procedural steps and deadlines may differ depending on the chosen pathway.

The programme alternates between theoretical and practical modules and leads to the award of 180 ECTS credits, recognised by the European Higher Education Area. Theoretical modules account for 126 ECTS credits, including 10 ECTS credits for the Bachelor's thesis.

Practical training period modules (placements) account for 54 ECTS credits. Practical training periods are spread throughout the programme and total 40 weeks spent in the field.

Practical Training

Workplace-based practical training is an integral part of the alternating training model in the field of Health Sciences.

Supervised by clinical trainers, students are quickly introduced to patient care and exposed to a wide range of real-life situations.

The internship opportunities cover all areas of nursing practice.

The programme includes six practical training periods, with one placement per semester. Over the course of three, four, or five years of study, 40 weeks are dedicated to practical training.
